A change in my teaching position.....

Ack! I was at the school today putting up fabric on my bulletin board and starting to arrange my room. I went down to the office to ask my Assistant Principal a question. My principal asked me to change to math. She told me that it was my decision but they had just hired a new teacher who was certified in High School Language Arts and she was uncomfortable teaching the math. I had finally started to figure out all of this LA curriculum and standards and had planned my classroom and bought some things at the School Box in Atlanta and now I am teaching math.

I want to be a team player and try to not make waves but I could just cry. The subjects that I would rather teach are in this order:
History
Science
Language Arts
and lastly, Math.

Please be in prayer for me. I have to attend new hire classes for the next seven work days and I will not have time to even begin to figure out this math curriculum. BTW, I never asked my Assistant Principal the question. The teacher desk in my room is tiny and I was going to see if she could get me a larger one.

I will be praying. I have found that you learn far more about the subject as a teacher than when you were a student, so maybe math will become your favorite subject!!! I just get impatient when the kids don't understand math - I did when I taught it in elementary school, when I tutored, and when I home schooled, but you're more patient than I.

I will be praying for you Mrs. Debbie. You are such an encouragement and so many kids get discouraged when they get to math. Maybe God has you there to be an encouragement to these kids and help them through a really tough class.
I love you

What a blessing a teacher is. I worked as a school nurse for a short while and saw the patience that teachers had to have and the red tape they had to tear down. Hang in there!

What a good sport you are! I can only imagine how the trip to the office that day took the wind right out of your sails. I have to agree with Noel. Math was my hardest subject, yet I remember my math teachers well. They were either patient and encouraging, or impatient and I felt stupid. Strangely enough, I don't really remember my English teachers, a subject I loved.

I will be praying for your adoption. I know that it is near and dear to your heart, and has been since Paul was 2.

Love you!!
